Your goals for therapy will determine the path. Once we enter into a trusting collaboration the path will emerge. It is your role to enter into therapy with openness and it is my job to utilize the training that I have spent the last 10 years developing.

My background includes years of behavior therapy with children with autism and other developmental disorders.

I have worked to support families through the process of diagnosis and treatment for their children. I received systems- based training and enjoy working with the whole family, but also honor that growth within an individual can impact the entire family system. I have also received Gottman training for Couples Therapy.

I have a high regard for culturally informed therapy. I have lived and worked in China, Germany, Italy, and Ghana. I highly value cultural awareness in my work and believe that it is the richness and joy that binds generations together.

I have also provided HIV/AIDS education through art and dance in Ghana. I value artistic expression in therapy and believe in addressing the psychosocial root of maladies and ending patterns that no longer work for us. I also believe that culture is a root of strength, coping, and the expression of spirituality.

While living in China, I studied Tibetan Buddhism. On a quest to better inform myself of the benefits of meditation and the tenants of Buddhism. Although mindfulness and meditation can be a practice in many religions it can also be completely secular and it is highly effective in treatment for trauma, anxiety, and depression.

My graduate studies were at the Azusa Pacific University, which is a Christian University where I learned the practice of utilizing spirituality within the therapeutic process. I believe in accessing personal strengths and treating the whole individual within therapy.

Some of my recent training is in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, specifically with exposure therapy for the treatment of OCD and other anxiety disorders. I have also taken many in courses neuroscience and believe providing neuroscience informed therapy is best practice.

I look forward to working with you.
