About Me and My Approach:

My therapeutic model believes that suffering stems from the inability to accept different and darker aspects of the self. In our work together, we will strive to send love and compassion to the parts of yourself that have been shunned, ignored, or criticized.

I have a client-centered approach, bringing an empathetic and warm presence to my sessions. Some of my favorite things clients have told me is that I help them to feel seen, and consistently show up with a positive, uplifting attitude.

My goal is to make our therapy session a part of the week that you are excited for, not dreading. It is important to me that you feel safe when you are sharing your story with me, and I strive to create the safest space I can for you.

Working with Identity and the LGBTQIA+ Community:

As a therapist, I recognize the struggles of creating and finding an identity, especially in a world where parts of us may have been taught to shy away. I understand the pain that comes from expressing a sacred piece of the self and being shut down for it. We can work together in therapy to recognize and dismantle the narratives that have been placed on you, the narratives that claim you need to be anyone other than yourself. I have worked with non-binary and queer individuals, and identify with this community myself. If you choose to share any piece of your identity with me, I will be honored.

Working with Addiction:

I have worked in an outpatient treatment center since May of 2021, helping those with co-existing mental health and substance-use disorders. I believe that addiction is a normal human drive towards wholeness – an attempt to quiet the emptiness that many of us feel.

In my graduate training at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), I spent a month and a half in Zurich, Switzerland attending seminars, visiting psychological institutes, and exploring their way of approaching addiction. Here, I learned about the connections between spirituality and addiction in the home and institutions of Carl Jung, the human credited with sparking Bill Wilson’s creation of Alcoholics Anonymous. Now, I am able to take what I learned from the heart of Switzerland and apply it to my clients who are struggling with various forms of addiction.

Education:

I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from TCSPP in 2022, and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2020. In my work at TCSPP, I worked under family systems trained clinicians, meaning I recognize that a human does not exist in a vacuum, but rather is impacted by the big and small relationships around them.
